Well, well, well... Look what the cat dragged in. And this cat is large, white and stripy!

Yes, I'm back from a very long absence on DA. I've been around, but only to look around at other people's work and find inspiration.
I think we need to have a quick run-down on what has actually happened since I last remember doing anything here:

1) I'm now a completed graduate from my Ceramics course, and I have my official BA Hons diploma for it. (Yay! :w00t: )
2) I've now become more focused on maintaining myself and my own living (still living at the old home, but paying the bills etc). Given me a better sense of reality after being given the responsibility.
3) Instead of one job and a class to go to, I now have 2 part-time retail jobs, and they're both next-door neighbours... Being taxed like hell, but I should get some back in a rebate this April. I'm still looking for that big cash-cow job to support myself securely though.
4) My ceramic work has now been displayed in 2 places - New Designers '09 in London and The Gallery at Bevere for the 2010 Graduate show. I've yet to make more additions to the work, but I'm trying to find ways to get that sorted out. I've also got another invite in a gallery closer to home, of which I'll be biting into and keeping a tight grip on.

Otherwise, it's been usual days, chilling at home and the odd night out. I do have some more deveations up ifyou haven't seen them yet, and I'm continuing to do more. I wont be blasting them all out onto the scanner, but they'll be coming from time-to-time.

Well, I'll cya l8r everyone.

I thought you were dead, was absolutely convinced you were as I have seen everyone else from last year but not you!

Starting to think about that final run up to my own show, throwing of course. I am making big platters, mugs and bowls for the final show but have started making a sideline of smaller mugs and soup bowls to sell at farmers markets, white stoneware with cobalt and iron brush strokes.

Anthea is making foxes which get better and better each time she makes one

Hehe, well, I did pop in to buy cakes at the cake sale a couple of months back, but lots of people were on their lunch. I saw Anna at the stand, but not many of the others.

Interesting sounding pieces you mentioned too, is it a white stoneware clay or glaze, and then the cobalt/iron? And I'm glad to hear Anthea's got a good focus on these foxes she's doing. I wouldn't mind having a look at both works, if you dont mind sending pics over a note/e-mail. :)

Well, best of luck anyways. I'll try to keep this journal going anyways, so I'll stay in contact.

I helped on one of the cake sales, but as I don't plan on going to London at all, the costs don't out balance what a finctional potter like myself could make.

Standard grey stoneware body, white stoneware glaze, the cobalt makes blie streaks and the iron red/brown.

Managing to throw about 3kg of clay these days so my 600 gram farmers market bowls come out quite a lot faster than they would have this time last year
